Every year instead of doing school pictures, we make a point of going out to do a fun photo shoot. This is such a Carter look and there was lovely space around the image for text – this one screamed to be a digi journal page.

Crate teaser

I have been busy…a new Fortune painting, a new Archaeology piece and several other pieces and art journal pages in the works. I had a chance to get some clear head space last week and started tidying up the Lair. And as some space was revealed, as things were purged and put away an amazing thing happened. My chest infection which has plagued me all summer started to clear up and for the first time in weeks, I had energy. I could breathe. I got out for some MUCH needed exercise which in turn gave me more energy to tackle projects around the house. Which spurred me on to tackle more things. And to create and take time to feed my soul. It is so easy to forget how much the space around me inspires me. I want my space to be amazing. To be a wonderful place to be in – not an ongoing source of tension and things undone. So I write this as a reminder to myself to stay on top of things. Breathe a little and create EVERY day. And journal. Journaling is meditation for me and when I give myself permission to meditate, I can feel my aura lightening and expanding and I step closer to the joy that I want to easily feel. I choose to live with grace and ease and to allow myself those things. So here is a teaser from the new Archaeology piece entitled “Crate”. I will have the finished piece up later this week, but wanted to share a bit for now.

Archaeology

This is a new series that I am working concurrently on along with the Fortune series. They both occupy a different part of my brain and when I am blocked on one, the other seems to flow. This isn’t a finished piece yet, but it’s close. I thought I would post them as it is what I work on when I have a Saturday night to play. I love that this piece tells a story, but I leave it up to you to imagine what that story may be. There are a lot of “what ifs” in it. I will post the completed version once it is done! The quality is a bit bitey as they are phone pics, but this is all about play and sharing.
